I sometimes find some unusually coloured pebbles when I’m picking or sorting. The pebbles I find locally are usually made up of four of five different varieties such as Pembrokeshire Blue stone or sandstone.
The inspiration for this piece comes from finding a pebble that is different from the local variety, I wonder where it came from and how it got here. It doesn’t fit, yet it somehow does.
My wife is a primary school teacher in a local school, the school has an increasing number of children who come from outside of Wales, many from Asia and the continent. Children don’t have the same baggage as adults and so are very good at welcoming newcomers.
Through the use of the tweeters, the scene depicts an adult and a groups of youngsters, a newcomer stands on the sideline, but is welcomed by one of the group.
#illrifdewith you (I’ll Ride With You) is named after the twitter campaign in 2015.
The piece comes in a black or white 10 inch (25cm) frame. The pebbles are handpicked from my favourite spot on Carmarthenshire Bay.
Every #illridewithyou is unique but will follow the story as shown in the images above. You can view pieces for sale on my online store.
#akshayavat; A sacred tree located within the Patalpuri Temple at the Allahabad Fort is worshipped as the Akshayavat by Hindus.
I grew up surrounded by trees and I’m lucky to have some ancient oaks in my garden. This piece is inspired by a tree I see in a farm field near my home, it stands alone in in the centre where sheep often gather for shade.

#Theswing is a simple piece that depicts the rope swing that was at the top of my grandmother’s garden.
‘The Watcher’ is one of the first stories I decided to create. I am lucky enough to have quite a large garden with plenty of trees and there’s no place better in summer. I often see me my cat Squeak staking the birds, although he never seems to attempt to catch any. That doesn’t stop him climbing the trees and watch the birds in the higher branches for hours on end. I sometimes wonder what is going through his mind while he sits and watches.. who knows?
The final pieces are framed at 23cm by 23 cm in black or white. Every #thewatcher piece is original and may not look exactly as the images here. Please look at my online store for the piece you may choose to buy. Or alternatively, come and see me at the shows and events I am attending.
